Nitronic 60 is an austenitic stainless steel alloy originally designed for high-temperature applications. It maintains excellent properties at temperatures up to 1800°F and offers superior oxidation resistance compared to Type 304 stainless steel, with performance similar to Type 309 stainless steel.

Key features include:

• High wear and galling resistance due to silicon and manganese matrix
• Maintains austenitic structure even after severe cold-working
• Corrosion resistance comparable to 304 and 316 stainless steels
• Approximately twice the yield strength of standard stainless steels
• Cost-effective alternative to nickel or cobalt alloys for wear applications

Nitronic 60 demonstrates corrosion resistance between types 304 and 316 stainless steel. In laboratory conditions, it outperforms Type 316 stainless steel. The alloy offers superior chloride pitting resistance compared to Type 316 stainless steel, along with excellent high-temperature corrosion resistance and low-temperature impact performance.
